اتحاد المصريين في بريطانيا يجرى استفتاء في لندن على تعديل الدستور - بوابة الأهرام الإلكترونية

يعتزم اتحاد المصريين في بريطانيا استفتاء آراء الجاليه المصريه في المملكه المتحده في التعديلات الدستوريه.

وقال مجلس اداره الاتحاد ان الاستفتاء يوم السبت المقبل سيجري في مقر الاتحاد شمال لندن ويتزامن مع يوم الاستفتاء في مصر.

وقال المجلس في بيان ان الاتحاد سيفتح ابوابه للراغبين في التصويت من الساعه الثانيه عشر ظهرا وحتي منتصف ليل السبت.

واضاف ان التصويت سيتم ببطاقه الرقم القومي او جواز السفر المصري وتشير التقديرات الي ان هناك مايقرب من ربع مليون مصري في المملكه المتحده وليست هناك ارقام دقيقه حول المصريين الذين يحق لهم التصويت.

وناشد مصطفي رجب رئيس مجلس اداره الاتحاد المصريين الاقبال علي التصويت كي يصل اصواتهم الي السلطات المصريه.

ودعا الي مشاركه عدد من المتطوعين من ابناء الجاليه في تنظيم الاستفتاء.

I got this email from the Egyptian Association in UK (Translation below original text) :

قرر مجلس أدارة أتحاد المصريين في بريطانيا إجراء عملية الأستفتاء علي التعديلات الدستورية يوم السبت 19 مارس 2011 وسوف يتم ذالك في بيت العائلة المصرية في لندن من الساعة 12 ظهرا وحتي منتصف الليل

يسمح لأي مواطن مصري بالتصويت بالرقم القومي أو جواز السفر المصري

يعتبر مجلس الأدارة ذالك الأجراء أختبار هام لرغبة المصريين في الخارج في التصويت

ترسل نتيجة الأستفتاء إلي المسؤلين بمصر

يرجوا مجلس الأدارة من جميع التجمعات المصرية في الخارج أن يقوموا بتلك التجربة

مطلوب متطوعين للعمل في هذه اللجنة

Translation:

Council of the Union of Egyptians in Britain will make a referendum on constitutional amendments on Saturday, March 19, 2011 and will take place in the house of the Egyptian family in London from 12 noon to midnight.

Any Egyptian citizen is allowed to vote by his Egyptian ID card or National Passport.

The Board of Directors think it is an important test of the desire of Egyptians abroad to vote. Results of the referendum will be sent to the officials in Egypt.

The Board of Directors asks all the Egyptian communities abroad to try this experiment.

Volunteers are needed to work in this Committee

This video shows Rami (also known as the Tahrir singer) who was detained by the army and tortured! How does the army expect us to trust them and chant again "The army and the people are one" when they do such things? I am really getting confused about this situation, and I have faith in the new cabinet to get things straight once and for all ... Can I hear an Amen?

The Army breaks up protests

The Army breaks up protests at the Lazoghly branch of the secret police, not allowing protesters to go inside like they did at the 6 October and Nasr City buildings.

This live broadcast was sent by the blogger Wael Abbas from there as well:

Protesters who gathered in Lazoghly were trying to break through barricades set up by the army leading the army to fire in the air and disperse the crowd. Two people were seen taken away by military officers. Some were reportedly injured.

Residents of Lazoghly were on the other side throwing stones at protesters and armed with knives, forcing protesters to run into side streets. The army then stood in between protesters and the armed residents forcing them to stop.

Protesters were then chased down Kasr Al-Ainy street and into Tahrir Square.
